The All-on-4 procedure is a patented method for permanently anchoring and supporting prosthetic teeth in edentulous patients. By utilizing the strategic placement of four mini dental implants, an arch of replacement teeth is anchored in place to enhance oral function and promote patient comfort and confidence.
For patients who require a whole set of replacement teeth, the All-on-4 procedure anchors natural looking prosthetics to dental implants.
Dental implants are textured rods made of titanium. These rods are implanted into the jawbone by our oral surgeon. Used to replace a tooth’s roots, dental implants prevent jawbone atrophy and gum recession while also supporting prosthetics. Because of titanium’s unique chemical structure, bone will ultimately fuse to the implant, permanently securing it in place. This natural process, called osseointegration, is similar to how bone self-repairs after a fracture.
Once the four implants are surgically inserted into the jaw, a set of prosthetic teeth will be attached to the implants. These dentures are made from natural looking materials that resemble the appearance of both gums and teeth. Once the procedure is complete, patients leave our office with a renewed sense of self and a full set of teeth. Unlike traditional dentures, which rest on top of the gum tissue, the All-on-4 method provides a stable biting surface that prevents prosthetics from moving in the mouth when speaking and eating.
