The Implant Difference
Unlike other prosthetics, dental implants are actually inserted into the jawbone. Made from biocompatible titanium, they actually bond with the jaw and are accepted by the body as new roots. This allows the flow of calcium and phosphorus to resume, preventing further loss of mass and density in your jaw. As a result, your new teeth can stay in a place for decades to come, possibly a lifetime, and you can enjoy new teeth that look and function like natural ones. With All-On-Four, this can be done in a single visit, no need to wait weeks or months in between implant placement and the attachment of your denture.
Teeth in Only One Day
Since the process only uses four dental implants per arch, and these are designed to require less structure to be supported, you can undergo treatment even if your jawbone has weakened due to tooth loss. No need for grafting or a sinus lift. We insert these at specific angles and positions to support new teeth and stimulate jawbone growth to keep your smile strong and also preserves your youthful facial features too. In one visit, we will insert the posts, connect abutments to them, and then attach your temporary denture, so you can leave with a full smile. We then switch the temporary for the final prosthetic in a later visit. In some cases, we may have the final denture ready, so the entire process is completely done in one appointment.
Protecting Your New Smile
To help your new smile last, you need to maintain good oral hygiene to keep issues that could threaten them, like periodontitis, at bay. You should brush and floss daily to remove harmful food and drink particles, before bacteria can consume them and create buildup that impacts new teeth and the gum tissues. You also need to avoid tobacco products and avoid too much sugar and starch in your diet. Be sure you undergo routine visits so we can keep an eye on your smile and make sure it continues to offer quality tooth replacement.
